Andrew Murrison has written to DEFRA minister Sir Mark Spencer and the Environment Agency congratulating him on directing the EA to pause issuing permits for waste incinerators pending a review of overcapacity.

Andrew Murrison has welcomed the inclusion of Wiltshire in the government's announcement of 'safety valve' funding for special needs following a bid by Wiltshire Council.

The authority is one of four councils sharing the money. Wiltshire is getting £67 million over 6 years.
