As a licensed medical practitioner, I have worked hard to support our wonderful NHS both inside and beyond Parliament, and I continue to do all that I can to make it better still. The demise of community hospitals, as in the case of Westbury Hospital, is a particular issue which I have taken a leading role in addressing in Parliament, as is the issue of underfunding. I ran the All Party Parliamentary Group on Clinical Leadership and Management, which seeks to explore and promote recruitment of frontline health professionals to key NHS management positions.
