Andrew has been taking advantage of the online meeting boom, by meeting with local councillors virtually.
There are nearly fifty councils in his constituency ranging from village meetings to parish and town councils.
Virtually or socially distanced, Dr Murrison has met with town councils Mere, Trowbridge and Westbury; and parish councils, Steeple Ashton and Upton Lovell. Forthcoming meetings in the diary include Dilton Marsh, Southwick, Chapmanslade, Chitterne, Ansty, and Alvediston.
Dr Murrison says:
“One of the few positives of the COVID crisis has been the boom in online meetings. I’m finding virtual meetings are do-able where face to face was more challenging because of logistics and reconciling diaries.
“I’ve been able to pick up what’s going on locally faster than might otherwise have been the case and on a broad range of issues. For example, yesterday, speaking with Westbury Town Council, we discussed the incinerator, free school meals, traffic in the middle of town and improving safe access to Westbury Juniors which is currently across a level crossing. We agreed to conduct a site visit.
“There’s no substitute for face-to-face and I would never want to be just stuck in front of a monitor rather than out and about but virtual meetings have certainly been proving their worth during the pandemic.
