Warminster's MP Andrew Murrison has hailed news that demolition work will begin this week on the scaffolded mess that is 3 High Street Warminster (next to St Lawrence Chapel).
Andrew, who has been corresponding with the owner about the longstanding blight in the middle of the town, said;
"I am so very pleased that this appalling eyesore will be no more. I commend those involved in getting it sorted.
"Looking to the future, I want a development that will enhance rather than detract from the townscape.
Although frankly anything is better than the existing, I hope what emerges will, in particular, acknowledge St Lawrence Chapel and give it the respectful space it warrants."
Andrew plans to visit the site again on Friday when hopefully demolition will be underway.
