Andrew Murrison has welcomed the announcement on Monday of 37 special free schools, including six in the south west. He has written to Wiltshire Council to see how this will affect its current consultation on provision in the county;

Dr Murrison is opposing the planned closure of Larkrise school in Trowbridge and perceives that the announcement by Education Secretary Damian Hinds may be timely. He said;
“On the face of it, the news is most welcome. I have tabled some questions to Mr Hinds to clarify the position and written to Wiltshire Council. It should certainly have an impact on the council’s consultation and, ultimately, its plans for local provision.”
