Andrew Murrison has written to Baroness Vere the roads minister to find out when the Dorset Coast Connectivity Study will report.
A meeting had been scheduled by the Department of Transport with relevant MPs in September to check progress but was delayed because of the death of her late Majesty.
The study is crucial because if the A350 is chosen as the preferred strategic route for traffic accessing the M4 from the south coast, there are clear implications for a Westbury bypass. Andrew, a longstanding campaigner for a western route bypass to relieve pressure in the centre of the town, said;
"In getting Westbury bypassed this study is an important piece of the jigsaw. I hope that we will get some favourable news from the minister in response to my letter and that she will be able to brief me and my colleagues on next steps.
