Andrew Murrison planted his tribute at the House of Commons Garden of Remembrance on Tuesday.
The MP placed his Royal British Legion poppy cross at the South West Wiltshire plot. The field on the Parliament estate will be filled up this week with similar tributes from constituency MPs.
Andrew Murrison is the Minister for Defence People and a Navy veteran and is still an active reservist. Two of his five daughters are in the Armed Forces. He is President of the Warminster Branch of The Royal British Legion.
On Saturday Andrew will be at the Festival of Remembrance at the Albert Hall and on Sunday will be at Remembrance services in his constituency.
He said;
"Remembrance is the closest we have to a national day. It is a special time for reflection and for honoring those who have paid the price for maintaining a decent, free, civilized society against misrule, destruction and barbarism.
