This morning the Northern Ireland Affairs Committee questioned Brexit Minister, Robin Walker, about the action being taken by the Government to ensure that Northern Ireland's border with Ireland is front and centre in Brexit negotiations.
During the meeting, Andrew said:
'On 18 October, Sir Jonathan Stephens in evidence to this Committee said, “We undertake a range of contingency plans, of course”. That is to say contingency plans around Brexit so far as it relates to Northern Ireland. I am left wondering how you can plan for contingencies if we have not done an impact assessment. For clarification, I am thinking particularly in the context of Northern Ireland, given that Northern Ireland, of all the home nations, is right at the front line of whatever falls out of Brexit.'
