Andrew visited 3 High Street Warminster today to see the early stages of the building's demolition.
The MP, who has been campaigning to have the notorious eyesore with its tragic associations demolished and who has been talking with the owners and planning authority, met the contractor Lawson Group of Swindon and heard how the work would be carried out in the weeks ahead.
Andrew said;
"I was impressed to hear about how the building will be deconstructed with the materials carefully set aside and recycled.
"Plainly it's a complex piece of work that'll take time to complete but it's so good to see Lawson's contractors on site and working hard. We're all looking forward to the scaffolding coming down and this appalling blight on our town centre being replaced with something that's respectful of its historic setting and in particular the chapel next door.
The site manager told Andrew that the work was promoting much interest from passers by. Andrew commented;
"As we get stuck into March, the clearance of this blot on the landscape is Warminster's Spring Clean with attitude!
