Andrew is in talks with Wiltshire Council regarding the development of a new economic strategy for the county. Wiltshire Council will be home to the new Growth Hub from April 2024 when Local Enterprise Partnerships transfer their responsibilities to other authorities. The Growth Hub will be responsible for developing an economic vision for Wiltshire and Swindon. Andrew is working with members of the Council to ensure that his TechTrowbridge campaign is a key part of that vision.
The campaign follows on from research by the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) which shows that the Trowbridge travel to work area is home to a creative cluster of innovative tech-based businesses. Andrew seeks to cultivate the cluster to give a boost to the local economy and make Trowbridge a hub for the digital industries of the future.
Andrew said;
‘The foundation of the Growth Hub is an opportunity to develop an exciting new vision of our local economy, and I want to see TechTrowbridge at the heart of that.
I look forward to working closely with members of Wiltshire Council to develop our slice of Silicon Valley here in the shires.’
