Andrew wrote to local health chiefs last week about the absence of vaccination action centres in south west Wiltshire. He has today written again following more complaints from constituents. The nearest centres appear to be Bath, Salisbury and Swindon, many miles from most of his constituents. He said;
"The government's campaign to persuade people to get vaccinated and boosted won't work unless jab centres are accessible. They just aren't for my constituents, especially those who need jabs the most - the elderly and vulnerable.
"I do appreciate we can't have a vaccination centre in every town but surely one in a place the size of Trowbridge within relatively easy reach of significant towns like Warminster and Westbury is do-able. If we don't make it easier for people to get vaccinated rates won't get up to the level we need to ensure life continues relatively normally."
Andrew led a military vaccination team helping local GPs vaccinate in March and April.
