English Heritage has been in touch with Andrew Murrison who has been lobbying for a clean-up of Westbury's iconic White Horse.
The plan now is to restore the 'Grey Mare' to its status as the much loved White Horse above the town with the work starting in the first week of July and lasting for 8 weeks. Andrew has been told the work will involve abseiling down the 180 foot landmark. There will be scope for volunteers to help;
Andrew said;
"I'm so pleased to hear that our cherished White Horse will be restored and delighted English Heritage will be using local volunteers to assist. I'm looking forward to visiting to see the work as it gets underway."
