Andrew has received a letter back from Roads Minister Richard Holden in response to his query about the much anticipated North-South strategic study into connecting the M4 with the south coast.
The study is important as one of the prime options is the use of the A350 which would imply a Westbury bypass, a western route for which Andrew has long been campaigning for.
In his letter minister Holden says “We are awaiting a review of the final products and once this has been submitted to Ministers by National Highways we will seek to make a decision at the end of October.”
Andrew has contacted Mr Holden to thank him for his letter and to press the case for Westbury. He said;
“I want to exploit every opportunity to finally get a western route bypass for Westbury. It is vital that it is included in the upcoming 5 year Road Investment Strategy which will be informed by the imminent Connectivity Study report.”
